SARCTRAC Mk3, our third generation Satellite Antenna Rotator Controller and TRACker, was released in October 2021. This forum is about setting up and operating SARCTRAC for portable operation, including:
  • How to modify your tripod and mount SARCTRAC on it
  • How to build your own lift-arm and mount your antenna to it
  • How to mount the SARCTRAC 3D Sensor on your antenna
  • How to set up your radios to work with SARCTRAC
  • How to get started in tracking and operating satellites
  • What radios you use and what satellites you have worked with SARCTRAC
We hope you have a lot of fun with it and we are here to support you. 73, Julie VK3FOWL and Joe VK3YSP.

Recently received Sarctrac rotator . Trying to set up software on Win 10 computer . The WiFi dongle is not recognised by the computer due to no driver. Tried on a second computer to no avail. Where does one source the driver ? What is the actual name or manufacturer of this de vice , so as to down load the driver ? Thanks !

Thank you for your prompt reply . I had actually found the the dongle Id when I plugged it into my Microsoft surface . Mr Google helped with rest . I do realise I need to study the manual a bit more ! Wonder if there is a separate command to activate the el rotator on its own ? Thanks . ( by the way it is all working as per manual) Thanks . Hi JJ,
That is great news. In manual mode, the start/stop command works on both motors. You could always disconnect the elevation motor.
Kind regards and stay safe.

Julie and Joe, just wanted to let you know that I had a successful startup today and it is working well from Florida. Still some tweaks and minor adjustments for the safety lanyard and such but all good. Many thanks for an outstanding and quality product and great service as well. I will be shooting at ISS tonight as well as trying it out with the various weather satellites here. A demonstration at our local club will be soon on the schedule. Again, thanks and best wishes from Sarasota, Florida! See picture here: https://www.sarcnet.org/images/wb9ayd.jpg
